Today we celebrate an extraordinary brother and an elite leader — Aidan Schaffer.
Aidan will graduate in May with a degree in Professional Selling, but what he’s sold most powerfully over the past four years is belief — belief in brotherhood, belief in standards, and belief that Kansas Beta could rise again as the biggest and best fraternity on campus at Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at Kansas State University.
During his time at Kansas Beta, Aidan has served with distinction as Chapter President, VP of Recruitment and as a mentor and role model across multiple generations of brothers
And make no mistake — his impact is structural, cultural, and enduring. As VP of Recruitment, Aidan sparked the turnaround. He didn’t just recruit men — he reset expectations, establishing a standard where every new member is called to build, lead, and leave the chapter stronger than they found it. That mindset has fueled a sustained run of successful rush classes and restored momentum that will carry Kansas Beta forward for years.
As President, Aidan led the chapter to meet or exceed every major operational benchmark — reaching a level of excellence worthy of the Buchanan Cup for the first time in nearly 15 years. That doesn’t happen by accident. That happens when leadership, discipline, brotherhood, and vision all align.
And now, in recognition of that impact, Aidan has been awarded one of the fraternities highest national honors; The J. Edward Zollinger Outstanding Senior Award.
This award is presented to one outstanding senior per district nationwide and recognizes men who exemplify the Balanced Man Ideal through:
• Outstanding scholastic achievement
• Exceptional fraternity and campus leadership
• Meaningful community involvement
The award is named for J. Edward Zollinger — Past Grand President, Order of the Golden Heart recipient, and a giant in the history of Sigma Phi Epsilon. To be selected in his name is to be recognized as a model of excellence.
Aidan Schaffer is exactly that. A builder. A culture-setter. A brother who made others better.
Kansas Beta is stronger because of Aidan. Sigma Phi Epsilon is better because of Aidan. And his legacy will be felt long after graduation day. Well done, Brother Schaffer.
Please join me in congratulating Aidan Schaffer on a job exceptionally well done — and on a standard of leadership worthy of imitation.
