Earlier this month, we hosted an Alumni weekend welcoming brothers back to the chapter. On Thursday, we hosted a reception where brothers and university officials could network and catch up.
The following day, our chapter partnered in the Rob Regier golf tournament raising over $42,000 for cancer research. This tournament honors Rob Regier 1988 K-State pre-dentistry graduate, who died of cancer in 1992. He was just 26 years old. The tournament was started in 1998 by some of Rob’s Sig Ep fraternity brothers in Kansas City. Rob’s parents Les and Sandy continued it with help from Rob’s twin brother Randy and Randy’s wife Juli and daughter Ryann.
This tournament has raised over $600,000 since it began. With the help of our undergrads and getting more brothers involved, we were able to set a record of $42,508 this year. This money will be used for groundbreaking cancer research at the Johnson Cancer Research Center at Kansas State University.
All in all, we had a great weekend catching up with alumni and raising money for a great cause. We look forward to partnering with the Rob Regier Tournament for years to come and keep raising those numbers!
